Grand Central Market in DTLA

* * * * * 5 Stars!

One of our favorite BIKE FRIENDLY eateries in LA is the historic Grand Central Market on Broadway. What makes this place BIKE FRIENDLY? Well they have, plenty of secured bike parking on both the East Broadway entrance and West Hill Street entrances. Security keeps a watch while you eat. This place has lots of eat and drink options to select from. From new hipster expensive to old school on the cheap!

SAGE Vegan Bistro in Echo Park

* * * *  Stars

Roll up, lock your bike up right in front of the front window and relax as you eat in this small and charming restaurant.  Eat in or out.

Offering the full lunch and dinner menus and brunch on Saturday and Sundays. A hip east side eatery that will transport you to Brooklyn. 12 flavors of Kindkreme and many Kindkreme desserts.

Their staff understand the demands of cyclists, because they also ride and love their bikes as much as you.

We love the new bar, but wont go into too much detail because we still think the prices are a bit too expensive. None the less, great service, energy welcoming.

Mikkeller Bar and Café

Mikkeller DTLA Bar & Café

* * * * 5 Stars

I usually hit up the Starbucks across the street on my way in to the office. This morning I noticed someone painting a mural on the exterior wall and decided to finally check out the vibe. Up until now I've refused to give the place a walk through, because this once abandoned discount tire center was one of the last existing destination street art gallery walls for us DT art locals and I admittedly had a small grudge over the new business. Today, I'm glad I set aside my selfish close minded ego.

To summarize my experience, Great CHAI. Great pastries, Cool vibe, Great decor and the event calendar looks pretty fun.  I will be back in the coming weeks with some fellow cyclists to check out the afternoon food menu and lot of craft drinks advertised in their beer bar.  And yes, they have plenty of convenient and visible bike parking right outside the door.

Cognoscenti Coffee

* * * * 5 Stars

Let me start by saying, Im not a big coffee drinker. I get too wired, so I usually stick to decaf. I was in DT's developing South Park and was craving a small cup of decal Joe and stumbled across Cognoscenti next to Soul Cycle.  There isn't much to the exterior of the coffee shop. Its actually kind of hard to find, but the interior, a blend of birch panels and industrial cement and exposed pipes give this place a cool lofty appeal. Not overdone and not under done. Cool baristas, Pretty customers, Chill music and great coffee. The pastries are also on point and not too expensive.

Best part of all, BIKE PARKING right out front. Indoor and outdoor seating. The place is never over crowded, the lines are conveniently short and service is overall good. This place is cool to chill, zip and work on your book or meet up with your squad brainstorm. Fast WIFI and lots of seating room.

Before posting my review I went back a few days later and had their chai.   . . . BOMB!

Pine & Crane

* * * * 5 Stars

I used to host cycling rides that met just outside this place. I frequented the previous business before Pine & Crane opened up and was a bit standoffish about visiting the new business. A few weeks ago I took a nibble of a friends plate who had some food picked up from here and I absolutely had to come in to see the full menu. Let me just say, WOW! very bold flavors. Filling and addicting. Nice hardy dishes served in the upmost polite mannerism. The space has a casual cool ambience. Fresh, airy and cozy at the same time.

Lots of safe bike parking just outside. Two of us ate several dishes and paid less than $30 for both. I definitely recommend this place if your riding your bike down Sunset Blvd.

COW Café

**** 4 Stars (because i haven't tried everything yet)

Stopped by on my lunch break. Cozy, Friendly, Affordable and yummy. The simplicity in design make this place cool. The staff was very friendly and efficient when processing my simple Chai and pastry order.   Convenient bike parking is located just outside the entrance.

Considering there is a Starbucks located across the intersection this place holds its own. Nice design aesthetics, friendly service and a unique Vegetarian and Mediterranean inspired menu.

Also, the workers did not make a fuzz, because I brought my bike inside. I kept it to the side away from customers or blocking / obstructing any paths. That was NICE! :-)
